Unexpected change
After holidays I noticed a different behaviour in my Maths teacher. Last year She always convinced us that our class isn't good at maths enough. She said that we didn't work hard or that we were lazy etc. Last lesson She said something completely different. She appreciated us and told us how students from the first class were scared. The atmosphere in the class was friendlier and funnier than last year.
My reflection about this story is that maybe it is our teacher's psychological method. The teacher in the first class is very strict and demanding. In this way the teacher builds her authority. In the course of time the teacher becomes nicer and students know that she isn't bad or scary and that they must work hard. I think this is a kind of methods which can help to teach or lead a group. this method is sometimes shown in the films.

This is a classic teaching strategy - "Don't smile before December!" Your maths teacher clearly decided to use the strategy for a bit longer than a few months.
OdpowiedzUsuńDid you notice that our maths teacher hasn't checked any our tests this year ? I think that this is quite important thing when we talk about atmosphere. Another thing is that there were many teachers who were in great moods at the beginning of the school year and now they lost their happiness.
